Beauty Begins

Team Hoyt. Have you heard of them?

If not, then here they are: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=flRvsO8m_KI

Without fail every time I watch this clip I cry freely and without shame. It is a powerful and compelling story and it seems to resonate with people on a variety of levels.

Most see a deeply moving human drama – a wonderful example of the power of love working in difficult circumstances.

Some can identify the determined struggle to forge personal purpose and the battle for significance and meaning.

A few even discern the plot lines of the Great Original Story – a Loving Father doing for his child what he cannot do for himself.

All however seem to agree that in this story there is undeniable Beauty.

Let me suggest where this common appreciation comes from.

“For God who said ‘Let there be light in the darkness,’ has made this light shine in our hearts so we could know the glory of God  that is seen  in the face  of Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians 4:6.

The Beauty we see in this clip is not a quality of our own making – it is the very glow of the gospel itself.
